Career Background:

Stephen brings over 25 years experience in technology industries, predominantly the software industry in both software product and software services areas. He is a marketing, strategic planning and product development specialist. He has lived and worked in 3 countries, undertaken research assignments across 4 continents, in companies ranging from 3 to over 30,000 employees, as well as having experienced on the “bleeding edge” as an entrepreneur.

Recent experience includes:

Founder director of a student-led software engineering company, which applies agile programming methods in industry standard software development and support.

Adviser to the founder directors of a university spin-out company developing semantic search and knowledge management platforms, bringing patented search technologies to market through a range of services, “shrink wrap” products and SAAS delivery.

Adviser to the founder directors of a university spin-out developing a software modelling product for hardware testing and development, bringing patented search technologies to market through a number of OEM relationships with hardware and software vendors.

Adviser to the board of the publisher of a cross-platform RAD software platform, reviewing the product development process, defining the long product vision and technology roadmap and shaping their product marketing plans.

NED and treasurer of a major regional hospices charity, assisting the executive team through a number major organisational change programmes including a new care delivery model and implementation of an NHS-integrated care management system.

Prior roles include European Marketing for Microsoft for a number of leading operating system products, and lead consultant with Sema Group (now part of Atos Origin) building systems for financial services organisations.

15 years working overseas in Belgium and France. Extensive business experience in the USA.

MA (Oxon) Law.
MBA (Manchester Business School).
