Rod has been a successful Managing Director and has over 20 years experience at board level in companies employing 100+ people.
Results driven, he has managed most aspects of business including Operations, Manufacturing, HR and distribution.
Although he is a generalist, he has specific Sales and Marketing skills and has been “head hunted” into struggling businesses to return them to profitable entities. Rod has successfully managed acquisitions and disposals, is fully versed and has much hands on experience of running companies at the beginning, middle or end of a “turnaround” cycle. |
Career Background: |
Rod left school at 16 and joined a management trainee scheme with a national company. He was promoted several times until he became National Accounts Manager aged 26. He then worked successfully for several different companies in progressively more senior roles.
For the last 14 years Rod has operated as Managing Director with 2 medium size organisations. In both cases these fell into the “turnaround” category and all objectives were achieved.
Most recently Rod has acted in a consultancy role with a specific brief to improve profitability and ultimately sell the business. This was completed on time within the criteria issued by the main board. |

Rod has worked at different locations all over the UK and is happy to continue to do so.
He is proud of the fact that many of his former colleagues, contacts and customers remain firm friends to this day.
He is a keen walker, loves classic cars and motor sport – and is interested in anything with oily bits!
Rod has been happily married to Marlyn for 28 years and has 3 grown up children all of whom have flown the nest. |
