Career Background: |
Experience in the Travel Industry involved living
and working in Europe, including two years based in Paris. Initial
Human Resources experience was gained with the BBC on the Graduate
Training Scheme and in the developing Local Radio organisation.
Subsequently joined the GKN Group, providing generalist HR support
to the UK Automotive Product Development Centre before moving to
the Corporate Headquarters with responsibility for Employment Affairs
across the Group, with special focus on European issues. Specialised
knowledge of UK and European employment directives and regulations.
Also involved in organisational and personal development programmes,
and in merger and acquisition exercises. Contributed to national
HR policy and practice development through working with the EEF,
CBI and the DTI.

Qualifications: |
BA Hons in Modern Languages – fluent in French, German, Italian.

accreditation to coaching and mentoring skills. BPS level B qualified
in psychometric testing. Computer literate. Facilitation skills
– EFQM Business Excellence Model.
Also undertake voluntary activities - as a Trustee with the Engineering
Development Trust, (who run the Engineering Education Scheme, Year
in Industry and Headstart) formerly a national Director of Young
Enterprise, currently a school governor. President of the Engineering
Employers Federation in the West Midlands from 2005 to 2007, the
only woman to have held this post.
