Career Background: |
My scientific training taught me how to problem solve
and think strategically. After 10 years’ research in textiles
and the medico- pharma sectors I set up a new P.R .function for Plessey
Research. After 5 years with Countrywide Communications (now Porter
Novelli and one of the world’s largest communications organisations),
I launched my own marketing and P.R. consultancy. In the 15 years
before selling it, I worked for major corporates in manufacturing
and service based companies including Scottish Courage, BASF, Northern
Foods, RICS, Raleigh, Lloyds TSB, Glaxo, Kenner Parker Tonka, National
Grid, Doncasters, BSS Group and Imperial Tobacco. |

Comments: |
Having chaired a Business Link and being involved
with planning the new direction of publicly funded business services,
I believe that only those who have done it and worn the ‘T’
shirt really understand the pressures on today’s owner managers.
I believe that all business processes - including marketing and
communications - must be results orientated and measurable. After
all, if you can’t measure something, you probably shouldn’t
be doing it! |
