Career Background: |
Simon joined Merchant Investors from university,
in 1990,joined Royal Holdings and in 1991, became a founding partner
of J. Rothschild Assurance (now St. James’ Place Capital).
Simon was top partner in 1993 and 1995. JRA floated in 1997 for
£365m and is today a top 200 company. In 1998, Simon became
Zurich Advice Network’s U.K. National Development Director,
then Recruitment Director. In 2003, Simon was co-founder and CEO
of the Thinc Group, which by 2007 had 900 advisers, £75m turnover,
£3bn funds under management and £4bn of annual mortgages.
In 2007, the French giant AXA bought Thinc for £100m.

Comments: |
After the sale to AXA, Simon has concentrated on
developing a holiday property company and has acquired a fishing
and shooting estate on Dartmoor. He enjoys fly-fishing, golf and
the Arts. Simon is willing to operate throughout the country and
has a particular interest in start-up businesses and “angel-like”
activities. He is also keen to use his professional skills in a
voluntary capacity for a number of key charities.
