Brian is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has held senior executive positions with direct responsibility for Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Audit and HR functions.

He has developed successful start up businesses and developed high performing multi disciplined teams.  Brian has personally run leadership and personal development programmes, together with successful team building events.  He is an experienced executive coach and a qualified Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming.

Brian has focused on achieving differentiating advantage through the consistent delivery of class leading customer service in all of the businesses that he has directed. 

He has led significant change programmes including organisational re structuring, systems implementations and major cultural change programmes.

He has also run Due Diligence assignments for both acquiring and divesting companies and for a major international merger.

Career Background:

Brian worked as a CA with Price Waterhouse in Manchester and Abu Dhabi before joining a major London clearing bank as a consultant and being promoted to Head the Group’s international Internal Audit and Security function.

After running two international Due Diligence assignments Brian was promoted to Finance and Operations Director and Deputy CEO of the Group’s market leading telephone bank, with responsibility for strategic planning, Finance, Compliance and Operations.  He also led HR and IT Operations and directed the business’s strategic expansion into Scotland.

Brian was promoted to Director of the Group’s leasing subsidiary, where his role was extended to incorporate all UK Commercial Term Lending to the Bank’s UK business customers.

Brian then became a main Board Director of a ‘top 10’ Building Society, where he launched a specialist lending business and directed Marketing for the Group.

Comments:

Particular areas of professional interest include strategic planning, business start ups, Customer Service and People Development.  I have a particular interest in management and executive coaching, where I have the opportunity to make use of my qualification in Neuro Linguistic Programming.  I also have a particular interest in major change initiatives including cultural change programmes, business re engineering, team building events and major business expansion programmes.

I have significant experience of implementing effective audit and control systems in businesses with a commercial perspective and of implementing financial reporting and management information systems. 

My principal operating area is the North of England and the Midlands although I am prepared to work nationally, or indeed internationally, for significant assignments.

My personal interests include football, travel and photography.
