Business Development Programme
The Business Development Programme is designed for small and medium
sized companies - to solve problems, and achieve specified objectives.
A Business Development Programme enables smaller companies to exploit
the vast depth and resources of the ibd Advisers'
network, at an affordable price.
Most importantly, a Project Co-ordinator is assigned who manages
all aspects of the work, brings in specialists as required, and
is on hand to offer support wherever needed. Business Development
Programmes are usually undertaken with a medium to long term perspective,
but can be as short as a few weeks, depending on the nature of the
work.
A comment we often hear from clients is that being an owner or
managing director of a company is a very lonely job. Who do you
turn to for practical and useful advice and assistance? Who can
you discuss new ideas, new products, new practices, new markets
and new methods with? And how can you be sure that any advice you
get is reliable, and not just designed to benefit the adviser?
With ibd you have the assurance that every adviser
meets our strict standards of competence and ethical practice to
deliver sound and practical advice.
How Does the BDP Work?
When your company is accepted onto a Business Development Programme
(BDP), you will be allocated a Project Co-Ordinator. The Project
Co-ordinator will:
- identify all the issues or individual projects that need to
be addressed as part of the BDP
- agree with you what work is to be done and how this will be
tackled
- prioritise the work and where necessary identify any specialists
to be brought in for specific tasks
- define the criteria for a succesful conclusion for each task
or project
A Business Development Programme is so much
more than just the specified deliverables however. The more the
Project Co-ordinator and other advisers get to know your business,
the more they are able to help in other ways, and find opportunities
you may never have dreamed of.
The Project co-ordinator can be your eyes and ears in the market
place, gathering valuable information and feedback. He or she can
act as a sounding board for any ideas, thoughts or plans that you
might have and give you a perspective on the best way forward. The
co-ordinator will act as a ‘business friend’ to give
you the peace of mind that a problem shared is a problem halved.
He or she can take some of the daily strain out of dealing with
debtors, creditors, arranging finance, introducing new methods and
work practices that will improve the profitability and productivity
of your company. Your co-ordinator will be available at all reasonable
times for you to talk to.
What are the Costs?
The costs of a Business Development Programme
from ibd are significantly less than any
other major consultancy - a benefit of the unique way we work, and
the efficiency and nature of our network.
The BDP is designed to fit the budget constraints of most SMEs.
BDPs may last from ten days to hundreds of days, but whatever schedule
we agree to, we will only undertake this work if we know we can
make a sound return on your investement.
What Do I Do Next?
Contact ibd either
by telephone or email to find
out if you qualify for a BDP. If you do, then we will arrange for
one of our Advisers to visit you and explain how the BDP works in
more detail, and how you will benefit. This meeting is free and
without any obligation on your part.
