ibd Network on standby to support small firms.

Initiatives in Business Development, ibd, the multi-national network of independent business advisors which specialises in the needs of small firms, is attending the Federation of Small Businesses’ annual conference in Birmingham for the first time this year.

Founded in 2002, ibd has expanded rapidly supporting start-ups and growing small and medium sized firms. ibd offers hands on business development advice and implementation support. Typical ibd members are experienced senior managers who bring maturity and experience and who have held senior positions in business and commerce.

ibd already operates throughout the European Union and a South African network is planned for later this year. Since its foundation, ibd’s 300 plus members have worked with over 6,000 small firms.

ibd has built a number of innovative partnerships with some of the UK’s largest banks and financial institutions including HSBC, Nat West, PwC, venture capital providers Angel Bourse and EurExel. All ensure that owner managers can easily access specialist expertise when they need it.

Since all ibd members go through a stringent recruitment and training programme, customers can be assured that the support delivered is both relevant and top quality.

Although every ibd member works independently, the network approach offers benefits to members and clients. It means that members can share ideas, benefit from peer support when needed and are able to call on appropriate specialists as and when needed.

ibd is organised into ten regional groups and directors and members of its West Midlands regional team will attend the conference this year.

As Alan Ford, Director of ibd explained, ”Owners and managers of small firms are absolutely pivotal to their success yet there are huge demands being made on them. With over 93% of firms in the UK employing fewer than 25 people, ibd’s mission is to offer easy access to local, relevant, accessible and above all useful sources of help and advise. ibd members pride themselves on their ability to reduce the pressure and to deliver active help that grows the bottom line.”

ibd members will be available during the conference on Stand 13 to explain how the network operates and the benefits ibd brings to clients and members. More information is also available from info@ibd-uk.com or contact ibd directly on 0115 988 6215
